Dale,
You will be missed by all who knew you. I remember, back when you worked for Clute Pd, you came by picked me up and said we would be out riding around for only a few hours, ten to twelve hours later I finally made it home.
You married by first born daughter and together you gave me my first two grandchildren Julie and Becky. Mary and I will forever be greatful to you for making us grandparents. There are so many memories, one can't put down all of them. You may be gone from this life, but not gone from those who knew and loved you. Peace be with you.

Forever in Our Hearts,
Dub and Mary Rogers

From working with Brazoria County Sheriff's office since 1998, I can honestly say that Luther was always cheerfull and singing. I believe he knew every joke ever told. he loved to get a smile from people and he always got one from me.
LUTHER YOU WILL BE MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW YOU.
Ronnie & Patsy Coldwater
I was accepted into the Clute Law Enforcement Explorer Post and Reserve Unit in 1974, where I met Luther.  I spent many nights riding in a police car with him and learned a whole lot about becomeing a police officer, guns, Hank Williams, John Wayne, and George Jones.  In 1977 he introduced me to his sister-in-law, Patsy. On our first date we doubled with Luther and Brenda, going to the movies to see "Walking Tall: Final Chapter".  In 1979 I married Patsy and Luther and Brenda served as Best Man and Matron of Honor.
There is no one in the world like Luther Dale Adams.
You have always been and will always be my Brother-In-Law, and I'm gonna miss you.

Father, peace officer, hero...the list goes on. I have so many memories,so many that it's hard for me to choose what to put down. I can still remember how he smelled. Stetson.I remember every morning without fail he would come to the breakfast table and give us a kiss and tell us he loved us.He loved us so very much. He had a Great sense of humor too. Dad had these birthday records that he would play during our parties, they had our names sung into them; it was awful!!  I miss that.He taught me so many things as I was growing up. He knew the meaning of family. He was very protective of us and never let anything harm us. I am so grateful to have been his daughter. I will always remember how he took time out of his busy schedule to spend time with us.Believe me,when you're a police officer that can be hard to do. I know, I know, yes, I will see him again, but until that fine day....I've got my memories to hold me up. For Rebecca and Lucas never forget the porch swing, the trampoline, the music, the food, that beautiful river, the laughter and the tears. I'm also grateful for Elaine; she was there when we sometimes we couldn't be. I love you daddy.

I depart as air, I shake my white locks at the runaway sun. I effuse my flesh in eddies and drift it in lacy jags. I bequeath myself to the dirt to grow from the grass I love, If you want me again, look for me under your bootsoles. You will hardly know who I am or what I mean, But I shall be good health to you nevertheless, And filter and fibre your blood. Failing to fetch me at first keep encouraged, Missing me one place search another, I stop somewhere waiting for you.

I have met many people in my life and throughout my law enforcement career, but there is only a very select few that I consider a "true" friend. Someone you can actually trust, who is there for you, who cares for their friends and family 100%, who puts God and faith first, and who will never lie to you. The person at the top of this list is, without a doubt, Luke Adams. Luke took me under his wing when I started at BCSO and we were close friends until the date the Lord called him home. This man was such an amazing person; I loved his western stories and conversations about history and his faith in God. He served his country for the majority of his life, from fighting for our freedom in Vietnam and then serving the citizens of Brazoria Co. as a peace officer. Luke risked his life countless times so we, the people, could be free and safe. Luke always spoke so highly of his family and you could tell they were his life. His kids are what made him so happy every single day. Luke will be missed but never forgotten. I love you buddy, please enjoy your peace in heaven. We will meet again one day.

I had the blessing of having Luther Dale Adams in my life, I've always known him as my Uncle Dale, since birth. He was so many things to me in the coarse of growing up, not just an uncle, an advisor, a voice of truth, rightousness, a loving hand, a freind and sometimes even a father. I think in some way or another he was a father to all of us in our family. He did his best to walk the straight and narrow, even, no especially in these times, and he did a pretty good job of doing it. His faith in God and his family will be instilled in me the rest of my life. He was a statue of strength in my eyes for as long as I can remember, and will continue to be for as long as I live. I will always remeber the bbques, the good music, the family gatherings. My life will not be the same knowing that he won't be there if I need some advice, or some since knocked into me. Good or bad you could always talk to him wether it was good or bad and he wouldn't judge you but try his best to help. I find comfort in knowing he has found peace, he's smiling down on us,  hanging his cowboy hat up there with Doc Holliday and John Wayne haha... I love you Uncle Dale your spirit and memory will live on with me always and forever.

I have had the privilege to know Luke Adams as a man, a friend and as family.  I can honestly say that if you did not know exactly what Luke thought of a particular subject you were most probably deaf and dumb.  He was a man who would tell you exactly what he thought, he was courageous and tenacious in his beliefs.  That is refreshing in these days of political correctness and hand wringing.  If he liked you he was with you no matter what and if he didn't like you he'd let you know it, but either way he would help you if he could.  I will forever appreciate the gift he gave me in friendship and for the core beliefs he instilled in my wife.

My fondest memories with my dad would have to be growing up. Period. He was such an incredible person to be around, I was truly blessed to have known him. Growing up he always made time for us kids, working or not he would always call to check on us. When I was growing up at our home in Brazoria he and Elaine opened up a side catering business. While he would be smoking the briskets on the pit, I would sit on the porch-swing, listening to his country music. He had such great porch talk. He would never hide the truth from us as we were growing up, if you had a question he would answer truthfully. He raised us kids teaching us that faith in God was the most important choice we would ever make. I learned a lot from my father. One, is something many people never have the chance to learn ****family is everything.**** His father died when he was young, and at that time there were still three siblings for his mother to care for all alone, so he chose to step up and help his mother any way he could. An understanding of how life works; a richness of family; blood, sweat and tears through lifes hardships; duty and honor that one feels towards his country; and a pronounced faith in God is what my father instilled in me. I know in my heart, you ARE SOARING like an EAGLE in the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.
